Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished businessman and public servant is vice-president. Cheney known as a popular figure within Washington politics has worked with four presidents of the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush picked Cheney as his running mate for vice president in July of 2000, citing Cheney's experience and wisdom. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff to the president, served as a congressman Congress as well as secretary of defense. Cheney is a man with integrity who is respected by Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney says he views his job within the administration as one of a straightforward but discreet adviser to Bush. Cheney stated that, when he decided to accept the Republican nomination to vice-president Cheney was looking forward to working alongside President Bush who could work with a wide range of political parties as well as with his political adversaries in good faith with common objectives. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on 30 January 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. When he turned 13 old, he emigrated along with his parents into Casper which is located within western part of Wyoming in Wyoming, where his father was the director of the district for soil conservation in Casper for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
