The kids were at the crib, and I was strapped with an infant on my back. Ha! The whole thing was beginning to come together but there was still a long way to go. The project would require lots of time and money and my personal favorite brands interiors to decorate this place. In order to stay the cost within my means I took my sons along to search for gems hidden in estate sales. Our weekly routine was to spend Thursday-Saturday walking through garage and estate sales, buying old and new pieces as well as spending weekends painting and sanding the driveway. My passion for restoration of furniture began when I saw a style that was similar to this. Even though the house had been furnished, I could not put down. I also had a booth at the market to sell objects. There were lots of pieces, I didn't know what to do and I outgrew my space. The house became a venue in which I held open houses, where up to 1,000 people could view the items on the first floor, and then purchase them. Growing Days was founded in my house. The business wasn't just flourishing, but I was also growing my sweet family too. I was trying to find that perfect balance of having starting a new venture and be a mommy too. Growing Days just fit. It was in 2013 when my lovely daughter Nora came along our 4th child. I was thrilled with where my company was taking me, but I felt like I needed to take a breather. I took a break from the old furniture in order to spend the time I needed with my family. That was exactly what I was looking for at the moment. After a couple of months, the phone began to start to. Numerous people reached me seeking advice on home improvement and decorating. A majority of them were people who visited my home at my open house for furniture. I started taking on some customers one by one taking my time however it wasn't long before I had multiple accounts and was running a complete home renovation business. It is likely that I would have been laughing if somebody had informed me that my venture was going to be part of a forthcoming TV show on DIY Network. It's hilarious to look back on it.
